Autosport International 2002

The Autosports International Show, now in it’s 12th year, has become the traditional start to the motorsport season in the UK. The show has in the past been the place where manufacturers have launched their new cars for the years and a couple of year’s ago BAR chose Birmingham to show off their proposed liveries.

This year seemed quiet compared to previous years and the “F1 Grid” looked a little bare compared to the pit lane garages on offer last year.

Williams were once again represented sending along on of last year’s cars to grace the third place position on the grid with all cars lining up where they finished the season.

Last year’s show was visted by Juan Pablo Montoya. This year there was no current Williams driver to be seen but Nigel Mansell made an appearance on the Goodyear stand along with his championship winning FW14B.

Also on show was Damon Hills championship winning Williams but there was no sighting of the man himself.

The ever popular Johnny Herbert was also on hand on the Rockingham stand to sign autographs and answer questions about his new driving school.
