The Williams Week 2021

A round-up of interesting Williams related stories found on the web this week:

Williams should in theory at least move into the midfield. They simply have to, to show that they are serious about rebuilding, and have made progress over the last couple of years. Williams have spent too long in the doldrums, and simply have to improve. They have two very capable drivers in their cars for 2022, and some great people technically, as well as a fantastic team boss in Jost Capito. If Williams aren’t able to make some progress in 2022, it will certainly leave questions whether they will be able to work their way back up to the front in Formula 1.

What We Can Expect From Williams in F1 2022

“Williams was the last seat in Formula 1 – it was that or I wasn’t in F1. So she could really tighten that contract down. But it was all in Williams’ favour.” – George Russell

Williams had a ‘watertight’ contract with Russell

“Even though I didn’t drive the car much, the guys at Red Bull know a lot about the car. They know how to make a car fast. And I can bring that to Williams. Next season, I will be a more complete driver.” – Alex Albon

Albon heads to Williams a ‘more complete’ driver

“I need to take on that leadership role and be confident in my decisions, what I’m communicating to the team and the direction it’s going to go in, because I think more than any year I’ve been in F1 and probably more than any year for a long time this will be such an important aspect.” – Nicholas Latifi
