A year of consolidation with the same line-up of Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas retained for a second season.
The season got off to a bad start in Australian with Bottas having to skip the race after having problems with his back during the practice sessions. At this point Williams had no reserve driver so this led to the appointment of Adrian Sutil for the remainder of the season but was never actually called upon.
The resurgence of Ferrari meant that the team couldn’t take the step up and challenge Mercedes finishing the season in third position again. Highlight of the year was leading away the Mercedes and leading the race at Silverstone until the rain came down and the dominance couldn’t be maintained.
